JUST KEEP MOVING

In the dark closet, birds chirp; the lake glistens from sun rays, kids play ball, run, and laugh. Patricia, a timid 5-year-old, uncurls her body as she holds her breath, hoping the violence comes to an end.  Standing as her mind suddenly returns to the room and her brothers' limp body hit the bed, her screams echo into the void with no one to help.
